A practical look at the decisions between connecting code and putting an application online.

Start with what the repository says

A repository is useful evidence, not a complete deployment plan. Shiplet begins with the project that already exists, then inspects the runtime, data, private values, and safety boundaries it can detect.

The goal is not to hide every decision. It is to turn scattered infrastructure work into one reviewable path.

Detection before action

Before the first build, the owner should be able to see what Shiplet inferred and where a decision is still required. Unsupported databases and risky capabilities do not get silently replaced. The path stops until there is a supported runtime or an owner choice.

  • Connect the GitHub repository
  • Inspect runtime, data, secrets, and safety
  • Review the prepared plan
  • Deploy only after the plan makes sense

Keep the handoff small

Once the application is ready, teammates need the application rather than a cloud console. Shiplet’s product path is built around protected, environment-scoped access while the owner keeps control of releases, private values, permissions, and recovery.
