Custom domains

Serve an Aozumi app on your own domain. Add two DNS records to prove ownership and route traffic; Aozumi then issues and renews the HTTPS certificate automatically.

Add a domain

  1. Open the app's domain settingsEnter the hostname, such as app.example.com, and pick the environment it should serve. Production is the default.
  2. Add the DNS records Aozumi showsOne proves you own the domain and one points it at Aozumi. Add both at your DNS provider.
  3. Wait for the checksAozumi checks DNS on a schedule, or you can ask it to check again. When both records are right it requests the certificate.

The DNS records

Ownership (TXT)
A TXT record at _aozumi-challenge. followed by your hostname, with the value shown in the console. It proves the domain is yours.
Routing (CNAME)
A CNAME from your hostname to the target shown in the console. It sends visitors to Aozumi.
Apex domains
A root domain cannot have a plain CNAME. Use CNAME flattening, ALIAS or ANAME at your DNS provider instead.

Domain status

Waiting for DNS
Add the TXT record first, then the routing record.
Issuing certificate
DNS is verified and the HTTPS certificate is being issued. This usually takes a few minutes.
Active
Serving traffic over HTTPS. Certificates renew automatically.
Needs attention
Something in DNS is wrong. Fix the records and check again.

Each app and each workspace can have a limited number of custom domains during the beta. The console tells you when you reach the limit.

Remove a domain

Remove a domain from the same settings. Aozumi releases it in the background, and it disappears from the list when cleanup finishes. Remove the DNS records at your provider afterwards.

Questions

Does Aozumi provide HTTPS for custom domains?
Yes. After your DNS records check out, a certificate is issued automatically, usually within a few minutes, and renewed automatically.
Can I use a root (apex) domain like example.com?
Yes, if your DNS provider supports CNAME flattening, ALIAS or ANAME records. Otherwise use a subdomain such as app.example.com.
Does a custom domain change who can open my app?
No. Requests to your domain go through the same gateway and follow the app's link access setting.
