Managed Postgres

Add a Postgres database to an Aozumi app. Aozumi sets DATABASE_URL for Production, takes scheduled encrypted backups, and supports point-in-time restore.

Create a database

  1. Open the app's database settingsChoose Create Postgres database. Only workspace owners and admins can create databases.
  2. ConfirmIf the app already has a DATABASE_URL, tick the option to replace it; otherwise your existing value is kept.
  3. Wait for it to be readyCreation usually takes a minute or two. When it is ready, Aozumi sets the connection string for Production.

Connect your app

Read the connection string from DATABASE_URL, the way most frameworks and ORMs already do. Connections require TLS.

Run your own schema migrations as part of your app or its start command. Aozumi does not migrate your data for you.

Backups and restore

  • Backups are scheduled and encrypted. The database settings show the restore points you have.
  • Point-in-time restore builds a copy next to the current database, which keeps serving until the restore is ready. Connections drop briefly at the switch.
  • After a restore you can roll back to the state before it for a limited time. The kept copy uses disk only until that window ends.

Delete a database

When you delete a database, Aozumi offers a final backup and deletes the database only once that backup has succeeded. Scheduled backups are deleted with the database; final backups are listed separately. Deleting without a final backup removes the data for good.

Beta limits

Database size and count are capped during the beta. If the shared database server runs low on disk, connections to the fastest-growing databases pause to protect everyone else and resume automatically when space is back. See limits and quotas.

Does Aozumi offer a database?
Yes. Managed Postgres is available in the beta. Create it from the app's database settings and Aozumi sets DATABASE_URL for Production automatically. Workspace owners and admins can create databases.
Are Aozumi Postgres databases backed up?
Yes. Backups are scheduled and encrypted, and you can restore to an earlier point in time. You can also take a final backup when deleting a database.
