Install Hachi
Hachi is the AOZUMI Agents app for Mac. It installs with one command, signs in with a code you approve in the browser, and updates itself.
Requirements
- A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later).
- macOS 13 or newer.
- For local threads: the Claude Code or Codex CLI on your Mac. For cloud threads: an AOZUMI workspace in the beta.
Install
With one command (recommended)
Paste this into Terminal. It downloads the latest release, checks it, installs Hachi into Applications and opens it. Nothing passes through a browser download, so macOS does not stop the first open.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AoZumi-Labs/aozumi-agents-desktop/main/install.sh | sh
From a .dmg
- Download itGet the
.dmgfrom the latest release. - Drag Hachi to ApplicationsSelf-updates only work from there.
- Allow the first openBuilds are not notarized by Apple yet. If macOS says Hachi cannot be opened, go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and select Open Anyway.
Releases are published in the public aozumi-agents-desktop repository. Hachi is licensed under Apache-2.0. Each release also carries git-source.tar.gz, the source of the bundled Git.
First run
- Get startedOr choose Use local agents only to skip the account and run agents on your Mac.
- Sign in to AOZUMIYour browser opens AOZUMI with a code. Approve it if it matches the one in Hachi. Hachi keeps the key in your macOS Keychain, and it shows as “Hachi” in your workspace's audit log.
- Connect CodexUse the Codex login already on this Mac, sign in with ChatGPT, or add an OpenAI key for the workspace. Hachi asks before it sends any of them.
- Your first cloud agentName it, or keep My first agent, and select Create agent. You can also stay local.
Reopen setup later from the account menu.
Updates
Hachi checks for new releases on its own. When one is ready, Update available appears in the sidebar and in Settings › Updates. Select Relaunch to install it now, or quit Hachi when you are ready.
Hachi installs only updates signed by AOZUMI, after checking the download against its signed size and checksums.
Coming from AOZUMI Agents
Hachi used to be called AOZUMI Agents. If your app updated itself, the folder in Applications, and the name in Finder and in the Privacy & Security lists, may still read “AOZUMI Agents”, while everything inside says Hachi. Run the install command again to replace it with Hachi.app. Your threads and settings stay.
Uninstall
- Quit HachiThen move it from Applications to the Bin.
- Remove its data (optional)Delete
~/Library/Application Support/AOZUMI Agentsand~/.aozumi-agents.
Your cloud agents stay in your workspace until you delete them, from the Cloud console or from Hachi on another Mac.
Troubleshooting
“Hachi can't be opened”
You installed from the .dmg. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security and select Open Anyway, or install with the command above.
The install command refuses to run
It stops on Intel Macs and on macOS older than 13, which Hachi does not support.
No updates arrive
Make sure Hachi is in Applications. Updates cannot replace an app opened from the disk image or another folder.
