Agent previews

A cloud agent can share the dev server it is running, so you can click through the app while the agent works on it.

Share a dev server

Ask the agent to start your app's dev server and share it. Inside its sandbox, the agent runs:

In the agent's sandbox
room-cli preview 5173

It gets a link of this shape:

Preview link
https://p<port>-<agent id>.aozumi.site

Open it

In Hachi, the cloud thread's header shows Open preview, or Previews (n) when there are several. Opening one signs your browser in with a link that lasts one minute.

Only members of the workspace can open a preview. HTTP, server-sent events and WebSockets work, so live reload does too.

Good to know

  • Previews work only while the agent runs. See Start, stop and delete.
  • Dev servers must run in the background, or they stop when the agent's turn ends. The agent's built-in instructions tell it how.

Questions

Who can open an agent preview?
Members of the agent's workspace, signed in to AOZUMI. There are no public share links for agent previews.
Why did my preview stop?
Previews work only while the agent runs. When the agent sleeps, so does the dev server. Send the thread a message to wake it, and ask the agent to start the server again if it does not come back.
Is this the same as pull request previews?
No. Agent previews show a dev server inside a cloud agent while it works. Pull request previews deploy a pull request of a Cloud app; see Pull request and branch previews in the Cloud docs.
